My name is Liz. I make stuff.
I’ve been looking for something important for some time now, but can’t quite put my finger on what it is. I get closer every day.
One thing I know:
I’m a mountain. I need no anchor. I am my own.
I’m working on composing and singing the song of myself.
Check me out in these cool places:
- Twitter (screaming)
- Twitch channel (internet gramma)
- Tumblr (mostly reblogs of cats)
- LinkedIn (work)
- Contently portfolio (also work)
Feel free to reach out if you wanna chat writing, cats, or creativity.
Thank you for following my blog, here to warn you it’s a bilingual one, so if you get a post in Italian please use your patience an English one will soon follow ;) doing my best to keep things balanced.
How do you like you graduate program? I have thought about going back to school for writing, but then the little voice inside my head always tells it’s not practical, or I can’t make a career out of it.
I’m really enjoying it. There’s something to be said for sharing space with talented people who think you’re talented, too. Ha. In all seriousness it does lend itself to a creative mindset that’s hard to find outside of school — for me anyway. I’m getting and giving constructive criticism that an editor is not going to give me. I have grown so much as a writer just in the year I’ve been in the program (but maybe that’s just because I just got out of undergrad and wasn’t ready to move on in the real world anyway).
Speaking of the real world: You can make a career out of anything you damn well please. :) A lot of my classmates are teaching (college), but I set my sights on the publishing industry. To be around writing and to write are my two career goals. You just have to find what will fit your personality.
Hope my long-windedness didn’t put you to sleep. :)
Thanks for the incite and you long-windedness is much appreciated! This is definitely something to think about!
