NaNoWriMo.
You know, the Dang Thing.
I have attempted National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) two times in the past. The first time is documented in the archive of this blog, if you’re so inclined to read about that. It’s a great way to get a head start on a project, or finish one, or simply motivate yourself to write more.
This year, I’ve decided to finish my novel. I started writing this thing in earnest in spring 2018, and I’ve been slogging away ever since. I have been on somewhat of a hiatus the past few months, mostly because I’ve been focusing on poetry and my own mental health.
But it’s time!
It’s time to finish this novel. I’ve been working on this particular story for over a decade. So for some of October and most of November, I will be using the Workshop Wednesday space to do some planning and plotting so I will be ready for NaNoWriMo — ready to finally finish this thing! I’m at 62,000 words currently, so I think it’s perfectly reasonable to get to the 100k I know this work will need.
Away we go!
