Concerned readers will be happy to know that I am finally back from my hiatus. I am writing to you from a whole new city: Chicago! A lot of packing, an ungodly amount of stress and adrenaline, and a cold-as-shit blizzard of a move-in day later, and I have officially been here for a month.
What have I been up to, you ask? Job hunting (bleh), NEAT-ing (yay), and playing Final Fantasy, mostly. I’m loving the winter here and the idea that I have my own apartment, in a new city, with all the love and support of the people I love the most bolstering me. I can’t describe how amazing it was to have my parents and brother help me move – I would never, ever have been able to do everything myself, and their help was truly a blessing. Now I’m ready to start my career afresh! Bring it on, Chicago!
TM and I will have a new issue of NEAT. up this week (possibly tomorrow). We are just as proud of this one as of all our others. Still can’t believe this is our seventh issue already – time is a quick sucker, that’s for sure. I’m super excited about the next call for submissions. Let’s just say that “But it’s Better if You Do!” is one of my favorite Panic! at the Disco songs, and that’s all I could think of while we were discussing our new theme.
Here are my writing goals for the coming weeks:
1. Research publishers for my novel
2. Start new novel project (I’ve got a bit of an idea rattling around up there . . .)
3. Find homes for a couple of the stories collecting dust on my hard drive (perhaps with revisions)
4. Don’t get discouraged! Jobs and writing will happen! I just have to let it.
More updates to come. Thanks for tuning in again to my ramblings.
