This Weekend in Bullet Points — Reading, Writing, and #neatingout

Lots of new things happening in Liz’s life right now.

1. I turned 24 this past week. I feel old.

2.The third issue of NEAT. is about to go live. There is a metric tonne of poetry in this one, and I’m super pumped about it. Can’t wait to sit down with my Kindle and actually read it start to finish. TM and I also had a photo shoot with REAL bourbon (which quickly turned into whiskey sours once the camera was off). It was hella fun. NEAT. is starting to take off, and we have a lot of new things in the works. I can see us doing this for a long time to come — and it wouldn’t be the same without my partner-in-crime TM Keesling. You can read her blog here. You can also check out our site for information about all of these new, shiny endeavors.

BOURBON. (Neat of course.)

3. If you follow me on Twitter (which you totally should, duh), you may have seen this a couple of days ago:

Electronic proof of my writerly abilities. Or something.

If you can’t read it (it is kind of small), the picture below my tweet says that I reached 80 thousand words in my novel over the weekend. Woo! I feel accomplished, exhausted, and guilty I haven’t arrived here in the 80-thousand range sooner. I should have this book done in no time (no time = two weeks-ish. I’m still in graduate school, remember?). I can’t wait to start REVISIONS!

I guess that’s all for now — just thought I’d update my lovely Readers with some tidbits of my terribly interesting life. I might post a novel excerpt in a day or two in celebration of reaching my word count goal. I also have some more Reading List posts to write when I find the time.

Have a great week!

I'm a writer living and working in Cincinnati, OH. I've been writing for ages and ages. Somehow now I'm actually getting someone to pay me to do it.

      1. Hey, whatever works! I’ve broken mine down into a bunch of individual chapters to make it less terrifying. By the way, I think we may have to battle for the “Slowest Writer” moniker.

      2. Will it involve mortal kombat-style health gauges and brass knuckles? Or a Mario Kart tournament? Because I might be able to find one of those things.

  1. You feel old?! I feel old! I’m crawling super close to 30 now!
In all seriousness, Happy Birthday again my dear. You are awesome!
